Meet the Chair of the new Weston Section of BCBA
The Broward County Bar Association, in continuing to find ways to provide variety and opportunity to all of its members, has installed the Weston section to provide educational opportunities to lawyers or that reside and/ in practice Weston and its surrounding areas. I have the pleasure of being appointed as Chair of the BCBA Weston Section.
As someone who both lives andpractices in Weston, Florida for over a decade, I embrace having this
opportunity to contribute to our fellow attorneys and community. The strength, support and resources of our Broward County Bar Association affords the practitioners in the Weston Section with opportunities to receive greater benefits and attend events with more ease and access, focusing on our
geographical location and unique elements of our community.
My focus and commitment is to present multiple events in collaboration with other practice sections, focusing on the needs of the law firms and practitioners within our beautiful city. The more involvement we have, the more we can provide and further enhance the professional growth of our Weston area practitioners.
The BCBA kicked off its fiscal year with the installation of a new President, Michael Rajitar, who remains committed to providing his full support in the revitalization of the Weston Section. Mr. Rajtar, the BCBA Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors, have been an amazing source of leadership and support to this section’s growth. In our inaugural event in October, we celebrated this new section with an exciting networking Kick off Happy Hour at Baires Grill with over 50 attorneys in attendance. We had great weather, food and drinks and made some new and exciting connections. Special thanks to our kick-off event sponsor, LawFirmSites.com for their support.
As we approach the end of this calendar year, it is important to not only self-reflect, but also take a closer look at our practices and identify where we are headed in 2024. Many of the practitioners within the City of Weston and immediate surrounding areas, are part of a smaller boutique law practices and my goal is to find ways to address the unique needs of this community of practitioners. Attorneys who are serious about growing their practices and increasing profitability through referral marketing should look into the opportunities provided by the Broward County Bar Association, now in its very own backyard, while simultaneously providing support to our local businesses.
Personally, I attribute my firm’s growth to my participation in key networking activities, CLEs and section events within the Broward Bar. The best referrals are those that come from colleagues from within our local bar when you have an opportunity to really get to know your co-counsels and fellow practitioners.
Alongside the members of the Weston Section Committee, Valerie Barnhart, Esq.; Diana Castrillon, Esq.; Jacqueline Revis, Esq., and Mario Lopez, Esq., look forward to seeing you at our next event in 2024. We also encourage anyone who wants to get more involved with the Weston section by serving on the committee, speaking at a future Weston Section CLE Event, or contribute articles for the Broward Bar Barrister, feel free to reach out to contact me directly at lferrer@ ferrerlawgroup.com.
