Geoffrey Curreri, Esq.
Managing Partner
Geoffrey C. Curreri is the Managing Partner of Ferrer Law Group, PLLC. He provides legal counseling on transactional and litigation matters, related to community association law and commercial litigation.
Mr. Curreri was born in New York and has resided in South Florida for over 40 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business, with an emphasis in Finance, from Florida Atlantic University. In 1995, Mr. Curreri obtained his Juris Doctorate from the St. Thomas University School of Law.
Prior to joining the firm in late 2014, Mr. Curreri spent approximately 18 years in the insurance defense industry, representing some of the larger insurance carriers and the insureds. He was a frequent seminar presenter providing continuing education credits for the claims representatives on several topics. Mr. Curreri has written several articles on a variety of current event topics, to include his published work regarding the treatment of undocumented workers in their native countries within the March 2013 issue of Claims Journal, Southeast Edition as well as employer accommodations to an aging workforce within the July 2013 site for the Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI).
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Curreri’s professional background includes employment with an architectural/engineering firm, where he gained extensive knowledge and experience about the design and installation of medium to large multi-million dollar construction projects, including the development of and expansion stores in Dadeland Mall and Palm Beach Gardens Mall, assisting with the transition of the Burdines-Macy’s department store merger. The experience gained in the construction field, and interaction with general and sub-contractors place him in a unique position to handle claims relating to water damage, plumbing deficiencies, cast iron piping, roofing and failure to maintain issues.
Mr. Curreri has handled a multitude of insurance defense claims to trial on a wide range of issues. These issues range from chemical exposure, repetitive trauma, causality and intervening events to name a few. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Curreri also practiced in the area of the Longshore Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWC) and its progeny.
As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court mediator, Mr. Curreri’s experience handling mediations afford the firm’s clients an opportunity to engage in the alternative dispute resolution track in lieu of litigation.
Mr. Curreri has donated his time to Habitat for Humanity, as he enjoys woodworking and home remodeling. He is also an avid recreational ice hockey player at several of the South Florida ice rink leagues.
